Who can donate to Exaquest?
At this time, U.S. residents may donate to Exaquest Carbon only if they live in one of the following 29 states or territories: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, and Wyoming.
We are not aware of any laws that would prevent individuals and organizations who reside outside of the USA from donating to Exaquest Carbon.
EXAQUEST CARBON WILL REFUND ANY DONATION THAT IT CANNOT LEGALLY ACCEPT.
How will my donation be used?
Your online donation will be deposited in Exaquest Carbon’s general fund. This means that your donation will help support all of Exaquest Carbon’s activities, including our scientific research, public outreach, fundraising, and other operations.
Exaquest Carbon has no employees, rents no office space, and does not pay any compensation to its directors or officers. In other words, Exaquest operates on a shoestring budget, and we do everything we can to maximize the fraction of your donation that is spent on our core mission — i.e., conducting scientific research and then sharing our results with the world.

Processing fees for online donations
Payment processing fees are terrible, but you can donate to Exaquest Carbon without any processing fees by either (1) donating on Exaquest Carbon’s Facebook page, or (2) mailing us an old-fashioned check. If you mail us a check, the only fees are the costs of the check, an envelope, and postage ($0.55 for first-class mail in the USA). Our mailing address is:

Exaquest Carbon was founded in California in January 2020. Exaquest Carbon’s mission is to conduct scientific research to develop open-source technologies that will enable safe, sustainable, and inexpensive long-term storage of carbon at the gigaton scale in the form of lignocellulosic biomass.
